original paint gas tank. This color started in 1912 or 13. This identified as a 1915 tank because of the shift gate and flat side.
I found this tank in a barn, hanging on a wall next to the bike which the owner is re-assembling, he was gracious enough to allow me to inspect it. Warrs H-D needed this info for a restoration they were doing.
Side view of the tank, the Dark stripe is Blue and is 3/4 inch wide. The Red stripe is 1/16th wide, and actually a Vermillion red. The Gold stripe is 1/32nd wide and is Gold not a yellow.
Top view of the tank. I do not have these dimensions.
This is the top rear.
Top left view.
Left side front.
Left side rear.
My current color match, outdoors in natural light it is a very good match. The other gray is from a later gray.
Close up of left rear.
Left front.
Left side view of decal, in relation to stripe.
Decal in relation to stripe, this measurement is in inches.
Bottom left rear, measurment of stripe.
